Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is divided into more than 30 types, classified based on the type of lymphocyte involved: B lymphocytes B cells or T lymphocytes T cells. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is further classified by other factors, including whether it is aggressive fast-growing or indolent slow-growing. Burkitt lymphoma is considered the most aggressive form of lymphoma and is one of the fastest growing of all cancers.

Correspondence Address : Dr. Limited stage DLBCL is primarily treated with combined modality therapy consisting of abbreviated systemic chemotherapy three cyclesand involved field radiation therapy, whereas advanced stage disease is treated with full course of chemotherapy with recommendation of addition of novel agents Bortezomib, Ibrutinib, Lenalidomide in ABC type DLBCL. There are many different types of B-cell lymphomas. Treatment usually depends both on the type of lymphoma and the stage extent of the diseasebut many other factors can be important as well. Most often, the treatment is chemotherapy chemousually with a regimen of 4 drugs known as CHOP cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisoneplus the monoclonal antibody rituximab Rituxan.
This lymphoma affects patients of all age groups with wide range presentations concerning localization, morphology and molecular mechanisms. Since the last WHO classification the adoption of new genomic technologies has provided new insights into the biology of these lymphomas and led to the identification of distinct separate molecular entities and novel pathogenic pathways. These findings induced an expanding number of entities in the new WHO classification ofthe knowledge of which is essential concerning treatment options and survival of the patients.
Under the microscope, large malignant lymphocytes are seen diffusely throughout the specimen. Rarer types include:. Often the first symptom of DLBCL is a painless swelling in the neck, armpit or groin that is caused by enlarged lymph nodes.
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is a cancer of B cellsa type of white blood cell responsible for producing antibodies. It is the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma among adults, with an annual incidence of 7—8 cases perpeople per year in the USA and the UK. The causes of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma are not well understood.
DLBCL is clinically, morphologically and biologically a heterogeneous disease reflected in its highly variable clinical course. Gene expression profiling GEP studies have revealed that DLBCL comprises several molecular groups that reflect either the stage in B cell development from which the disease originates or the activity of different biological programs 10 These activated signalling pathways are crucial to promote cell survival, proliferation, and inhibition of apoptosis 12 More recently the mutational analysis of DLBCL provided new insights into DLBCL pathogenesis and suggested that these genetic signatures also predict clinical outcome and can be used to develop new treatment strategies 14
