Researchers at University College London developed a new way to measure how memes are made and spread. The researchers gathered a database of more than million images from online communities known to generate lots of memes, including Reddit, Twitter, 4chan, and Gab. They also downloaded more thanimages from KnowYourMeme.
It was 4chan. But unlike other boards with similar content, Something Awful skewed toward dark humor. I had an account at Something Awful, which I used sometimes to post in threads about my own comics.
What or who is 4chan? And why are they such utter douchebags? The first question has an easy answer and a more complicated one.
O n 27 April, before he burst into a San Diego synagogue and opened fire, killing one worshipper and injuring three more, the gunman said goodbye to the community that radicalised him. The story was familiar. Six weeks earlier, a year-old had killed 50 people at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.
It's like if reddit was entirely its lowest quality content. If anything it seems to support the idea that anonymous environments bring out the worst kind of discourse. I get the draw of a place where people can be unfiltered without having to worry about their reputation, but in practice it doesn't seem to create a great environment for any interesting discussion.
In June, a year-old man who fired a military-style assault rifle inside a popular Washington pizzeria, wrongly believing he was saving children trapped in a sex-slave ring, was sentenced to four years in prison. It started with hacked emails on WikiLeaks… which got scoured for political wrongdoing in the Clinton campaign staff by a popular Reddit forum dedicated to Donald J. In fact, alt-right communities within 4chan and Reddit are veritable hatcheries from which crawl a surprisingly large number of the headlines that eventually infest Twitter.

In April4chan received 69 million views rank globally according to SimilarWeb and 63 million rank according to Alexa. Christopher Poole aka "moot" founded 4chan in
The Beta Rebellion has begun. Soon, more of our brothers will take up arms to become martyrs to this revolution. Whereas alphas tend to be macho, sporty, and mainstream in their tastes, betas see themselves as less dominant males, withdrawn, obsessional, and curatorial in their cultural habits. This particular brand of computer-enabled detachment easily seeps into a mindset of entitled violence and is accompanied by a mixture of influences from the far right to the countercultural left.
Only two windows which are large ones at the front on either side of the wall. Pretty high roof as expected of studio, all in all pretty typical. Left wall has my battle station, nice modern glasstop desk, two monitors, desktop rig is nothing special, handles most things just fine.
A nation should have one race. If minorities exist in anything more than an unimportant, marginal number, society will. Like Rome, the United States has made the grave mistake of locking itself into a political struggle of minorities and the majority. The minority of the population will always seek to annihilate the majority, for the majority does keep them down — And when the majority is the only population capable of keeping the country intact, this proves a problem.
